All children enrolled in our child care program will have continually access to our outdoor urban oasis, developmentally appropriate for children of all ages!

Environmental education is a concept that needs to be more widely used in the early childhood sector. It is part of the holistic concept of serving the "whole child". It encompasses knowledge of the natural world that involves our emotions, dispositions, and capabilities.

Our outdoor design is influenced through our collaboration with the CA Early Childhood Mentoring Program (Director Mentor, Rebecca Tracy) and UC Berkeley's Child Study Center (Child Care Coordinator/Researcher, Dr. Jane P. Perry). The conceptual plan was made possible through our working partnership with both landscape firms: Hyphae Design Lab and the Golden Associates Landscape Architecture.
